There have been many attempts to describe their sound. Ranging from tight, to original, to country with a blues twist, to “the best live band I’ve heard in this venue in 10 years.” But, the most common description is the one that makes them stand out more than a lot of artists. “The most laid back, fun loving group of guys that play our establishment.”
It’s been three years in the making for these four hard working musicians from all over the country. Bringing together different backgrounds, different styles and molding them into a tight sound that lights up stages and dance floors all over the country. Playing over 200 shows a year on the road since June of 2008, they live for the joys and the rigors of the road.
The band consists of a set of guys with one common goal. Making great music for people to sing along and dance to. They all have similar beginnings with very different paths on the road to what is Nathan Dean and the Damn Band. They all began studying music at a young age, ranging from 8 to 12. From there the paths split.
Nathan began with drums at age 12 and moved to singing in high school choir and the college jazz band. Then turning to musical theatre out of college for several years before finally picking up a guitar and starting a local country band in Phoenix in 2005.
Jessie began singing in church at a young age and continued in high school as well as playing saxophone. He also turned to musical theatre in high school and college until he picked up a guitar in 2008 and joined his brother Nathan on the road singing harmonies and playing acoustic guitar. He has since become the bass player of the band and still provides the solid harmonies that only family can create.
