Bill Rice
	Take plenty of heartache, two near death experiences, a whole lotta “backroadin” therapy, a couple of bar scars, the perfect farmer’s tan, combine it with meaningful  lyrics, a soulful voice, solid guitar work and you’ve got Bill Rice. He is truly one of the brightest new stars in the Texas music scene.   Bill Rice was born and raised in rural Oklahoma.  After high school, he attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK..  He worked as a bouncer at the world famous Tumbleweed Dancehall, where he got to meet some of his country music idols.
The time spent working at the “Weed” had a profound effect on his decision to withdraw from college just shy of  having a degree and pursue his dream of being a country musician.      Bill moved to Oklahoma City and started a band that toured a four state area. After five years of leading the group, he decided to make a move to Nashville or Austin in search of recognition for his original music and with the flip of a coin, made Austin his new home.  Since moving to Austin in 2000, he has fronted a popular country band, co-written with some of his idols and recently put together a very talented group of guys to form what is now, the Bill Rice Band.   Bill has just finished recording his debut album that is set for a early September 2007 release.. His band is comprised of musicians that have traveled the world playing music for a living.  Bill says,  “I write real music for real people.
